Children’s sounds woven into a constantly evolving rhythmic texture.
Balbutiements is a miniature drawn from a broader acousmatic work exploring memory and the emergence of speech.
Built from archival recordings and sampled music-box material, the piece weaves children’s sounds into a constantly evolving rhythmic texture.
Through cycles, repetitions and temporal shifts, the music evokes the pulse of life and our perception of time, a sense of acceleration that seems to grow as we do.
Between innocence and mechanism, the sound world suggests a space where childhood memories resurface and are reshaped through listening.
